Sorry about posting delays. Between being busy getting ready to go, the lack of WIFI availability & the pollen allergies blogging has not been very high on the want to do list.

4/4 So, we are on our way again, That 6-7 hour layover in JFK does not get any easier with the frequency that we do it & there is no shorter way to get to BWI & make the last shuttle to Easton to pick up the truck.

4/5 Out of the hotel nice & early to go get the trailer. Again it is in great shape after a 6 month sleep. Dewinterizing & getting ready to move takes a couple unhurried hours. First stop, supermarket. 2 shopping carts worth. Next stop, Severn Marine for the usual maintenance & upgrades.

4/6-4/8 Fresh rubber for the trailer, a 2kw inverter/charger, a 4D AGM battery other odds & ends, an upgrade of rear shocks for the truck to take the 'jolt' out of it when without trailer & we have spent about half of what the rest of the trip will be. Oh yeah, & there is the trip to the Amish farmers market in Easton to load up with about a months worth of fresh meats which Carolyn portions off & packs in the freezer. No need for stopping at a supermarket except for perishables till at least Colorado.

4/9-4/14 So....when does the fun begin? First weekend with people met online who had a bit of a land based raft up. A good bunch of people but they have no idea how to party like the boaters do. By 10:00 they are about ready to trot off to beddy bye time. No matter. Neither one of us was in a party mood. Tree pollen allergies have us both real bad so we sat around the campfire for a bit & 'went to check the children' early.

Sunday we were headed towards our next big stop. Longview, Texas for a rodeo the next weekend. We filled up on the N end of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel & did not stop for diesel again till just W of Altlanta. That is over 700 miles with an overnight between. Not much to report along the way. It was mostly interstate & all of it feeling miserable from the pollen. Crossing into Alabama gave an extra hour of time, being central, & we stopped at a CG SW of Birmingham where we had been before in 07 & also a COE (army Corps of Engineers) CG near Pickensville, AL. Gracies, you would have passed this way on your trip down the Tom Bigbigbee Warterway. Pretty area even if the water is a yucky brown.

4/15 We left Pickensville with all parts. We arrived 300 miles later with a window missing. The pushout bedroom window was not locked properly & shook itself off. Y'ever wonder how all those weird things wind up on the side of the highway? Oh well, lesson learned. Check everything before hitting the highway.

4/15-16 Longview, Texas. 2 day rodeo Yee Haw! The bulls were the winners in this one with many more cowboys being bucked off in the 8 seconds than staying on.

4/17 By the time we left the CG at the rodeo grounds we were the last to leave. Everything was gone like nothing had happened there.

4/18-19 Next stop, Amarillo, Texas. Yes, it takes 2 days of driving to get there. Texas is that big.

4/20 Another day on hwy 287. This is the hwy that we broke down on twice last year due to contaminated fuel. There was audible relief as we passed each spot where we broke down last year. Tonight we are in SE Colorado, a truly desolate place but it has a beauty all its own. Anyone who complains about 'nothing to do' 'nothing to see anywhere else needs to drive from Amarillo Tx, across the OK Panhandle & over the high plains to Denver.

Sorry about the copy & no pics. As soon as I figure this thing out some more I'll get some pics on, maybe even some video.
